merry christmas! it's millionaire time at Qin's house! and it's the malaysian version. so the most expensive property is cameron highlands. haha. it was the best monopoly game in 2008. i can't believe i had such bad luck. almost every "fate" and "chance" that i drew was a penalty. at one point of time, i owe Qin $3000 and Ting $ 4000 and the worst thing was, i also owe the gynae $1000! who on earth put gynaes in the game of millionaire?! oh my god. when you owe such debts, jail is heaven!

in a blink of an eye, it's december once more. year 2008 is now coming to an end. i am waving goodbye to this year with so much relief that it's over. what a tough tough year. phew. FRIENDS had its annual dinner at the jewel box. which is quite an exquisite restaurant with really cool interiors. not to forget its located at the summit of mount faber. woo! we had a really grant time there. thanks to dr ng, jean and all staff of FRIENDS.

seeing april for the first time since she landed. glad to see the girl came back confident, bubbly and happy.

before i left, i made my dad upset. i didn't know how it happened. i thought it was just a casual passing of words. my mum says i don't appreciate what my dad does for me. but i do. i really do. my dad is the most self-sacrificing man in my life. he has given everything to the family and deserve all the respect i can give. i don't know how i can be the kind of daughter that can make my parents proud. nothing makes me more dejected than seeing them shake their head in disapproval at what i do. i always thought making my own decisions and taking care of my own life will cause them less worry. i don't understand why everything i do seem wrong. people tell me my parents have brought me up well. i am always proud of the fact that i can differentiate right from wrong, fair and unfair, know what i should and should not do. i stick faithfully to my principles and set of virtues. i am flawed in all the meagre ways but i am strong in my core values. isn't all these important? to my parents, i think i am far from the perfect portrayal of a child. nothing hurts me more than my dad thinking i don't appreciate him and my mum saying my life is in a mess. i am mostly positive and happy because i try to see my life in perspective. if the major components are not there, how can the little things fit in adequately? the sad fact is, i think my parents see the little things more than what i try to do in the big picture. i will never be good enough.

recently i've been too lazy to write about anything. seriously.
just too caught up with work and my day ends with me dozing off to the next morning, which usually starts with me waking up in a frenzy. definitely not the kind of life anyone enjoys.
i jump out of bed almost every day and feel lousy having to face the long long day ahead.
the perfect kind of life should be waking up in total contentment and filled with hope for the day itself. isn't it.
boo. i just need to hang in there for another few months. hopefully i will have some other plans by then. i just can't make up my mind now. oh man. time really flies.

today was quite enjoyable. met up with simin and yongqin for a kbox singing session. pity i had a slight sore throat but i think i did pretty good. i know, it's an understatement. haha.
oh and surprisingly, yongqin can rap really well. haha.
anyway, dinner at the restaurant (i don't even remember the name) which combines eastern and western style, was not as good as expected. i'm not a fussy eater but still, it's just not to my liking. i should say, it was quite disappointing because it was given really good publicity. oh yeah, if there's any good recommendations for dinner, perhaps someone can just let me know. it's always such a headache for us to think of the dinner venue.

i know it sounds hilarious but i'm trying to change a new style. a more elegant style.
hahaha. i can't help but laugh at it myself.
anyway, it was quite interesting to see the change.
so we'll see what happens next and if it gets me anywhere. haha.

few months have passed since i met ruiqi jie. it was nice catching up with her, i'm not surprised that our conversation was filled with heartfelt memories of our trip to korea last year. it was great fun and not to forget miss ruiqi taught me many of her cosmetic secrets, tested and trialed by her personally. haha. there was just too many things to learn and i only managed to pick up a thing or two, but thank you all the same, ruiqi jie. :)

it really made my day knowing she's going to take me all the way to her home in china next year june or july, well, of course, it also means another opportunity to meet up with frederick. wonderful wonderful. fred's thrilled to hear about this too. it's funny but it seems my friends are the ones creating opportunities for us to meet. i'm just so blessed i have all these friends and he should be thankful too.

lately, i kept thinking about the potential problems that we will have to face in the near future. no matter what, i'm grateful for the fact that we're both so hopeful and positive about our future together. i always think hope is an attitude that anticipates the good. it doesn't mean denial, or avoiding the problems in your paths but rather, to look beyond these problems and believe that things will eventually work out.

i just knock off from work not long ago and in a few hours' time, i'll need to report for work again. didn't get to hear frederick's voice today because something was wrong with the connection. it feels as if my day is incomplete without talking to him. oh boy, it's going to be a long night. haha.
